Let's bring back the books to our consciousness in line with former President Jonathan's rejuvenation of reading culture among Nigerians in 2011, which partly earned him the honour given him by Bulkybon Publications Company and some poets who submitted their works for the just published poetry anthology titled The President and other poems.
The book is a product of the recognition of former President Jonathan's all time commitment to peace and development of Nigeria, especially for conceding victory to Nigeria's new President Muhammadu Buhari, in a peaceful manner. Prior and during the 2015 electioneering campaigns, the former President had said "My political ambition is not worth the death of any Nigerian". The rest is history as the former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan made no fuse about holding on to power like some past or present do-or-die incumbent African politicians, who find it unacceptable to concede victory to their political opponents.
Most of the poems in the book celebrate the man of peace, Nigeria's culture and heritage for posterity. Please, order copies for yourself, family and friends now, and let's know your opinion about the different thoughts expressed by various poets who contributed to this historical anthology. It is the first of its kind about any Nigerian President by Nigerian poets nationwide. For inquiry, call +2348091087559 and +2348067538922.
